Cabo de Gata (the „Cat Cape“) is not only a region in the South East of Spain (between Almeria and Mojácar) but also the name of a natural park known for its beautiful beaches and the rocks of volcanic origin. We arrived there late in the afternoon on August 10th, settled down at the wonderful Playa Monsul and took a refreshening bath (well deserved – after the city tour through Granada). I, however, felt like a bit of jogging and exploring the coastline, and left Susi reading on the beach. I went up a stony, dusty road to the lighthouse of the cape and enjoyed magnificent views of the coast and the beaches.
